Well, it all depends on how you interpret what ironhead said.
To be honest, I'm not sure if it's possible to make it so that the threads ion a section are visible to all but can only be posted in by some.
I'm not 100% certain about that though.
As for restricting it, I would personally say it's very good move - it stops any old person from 'wondering in by mistake' as it were.
But if it were to be limited any more severely, then it would be an unnecessary hassle to ironhead and/or MeToo, having to permit new members to join the group one at a time. _________________ Customize.org - dA - Flickr |

Sorry folks, I miss configured the forum! It's now readable by All, but can only be posted to / replied to / etc. by members of the 'Emerge Desktop Promotion' Group. |

In fact, now anyone can post in the promotions section but only certain members can start new threads. _________________ Customize.org - dA - Flickr |

Hi guys, I don't really know how to do it (i'm limited to upload a few themes), but I think it would be a good idea to make a new demo video, since the old one at youtube is no more. That surely would solve a lot of issues about installing and configuring eD for newbies.
Anyone...? _________________ Follow the rabbit!

I think that if someone wants to have a go at creating a video it's a good idea but Bernard's tutorial is pretty good starting point.
And version 2 of the Tutorial which will be unveiled on the same day as the release of the next installer (hopefully on the 25th of June) is even better.
To make things even better, Emerge Desktop is now installed with a colorful theme, similar in function to Explorer, so that the first contact is not as daunting as it used to be with the Ugly Overlapping Gray Squares
So, bottom line, if you feel like making a video, you are more than welcome
(BTW I think the OP already abandoned Emerge Desktop...)

Gracias, lsendoya
If someone has the time and would be interested to do the video, there is a screen capture program available for free (today only) at GOTD...
