I'm sorry. I wasn't suggesting that installing SP3 would fix the problem.
I was just curious why you didn't update. I thought it was a deliberate option.
Emerge Desktop never had any similar problems under ANY windows version...
Even if you would try to run the x64 build under x86, it would return a proper warning, it wouldn't crash...
I'm afraid I have no idea what is wrong with your system... _________________

| No problem there, was good to find out it's legal. haha.. But, see, what's weird is no other version of emerge has ever crashed on me. And ONLY those two apps crash (Emerge tray and Emerge Tasks) The rest seem to be fine. |

If it helps:
I can run:
EmergeCore
EmergeDesktop
EmergeHotkeys
The others, upon launch, draw a transparent box (with a dropped shadow), then crash. The box is visible until closing the crash dialog. |

If emergeDesktop is running, do you get the menu when you Rightclick on the desktop?
That sounds like a Graphics driver/DirectX problem. Do you have recent drivers? _________________

Yes, it is fully functional. Also, I have the most recent drivers, however they are not current drivers. The computer is basically on-board everything, and not a new computer.
Release 2585, however, gives me no issues at all.
Edit:
2763 also crashes.
Edit2:
Does ED use DX? If so I am using 9.0C |

This is really odd, especially give:

As for:

eD doesn't use DX at all.
Would you be willing to run some debug builds so that I can try and figure out where the applets are crashing? If so, please send a Private Message so that I can contact you and provide you a location to grab the builds.
Thank you! |
