I'm aware of the story but given how many copies of Windows 7 have been sold and how apart from the story appearing on a couple of blogs, I've not seen much in the way of problems or complaints over on the likes of NtebookReview, I can't help thinking it's not that common a problem.
And, yes, you'd be correct in saying that HP are cheaper than Toshiba but £22 is still beyond a joke.
Especially since I gave them my credit card details and proof of purchase a week ago and they're saying it's still going to be another fortnight before they dispatch it. _________________ Customize.org - dA - Flickr |

So, we dont know if the issue is about the notification only or is actually threatening the batteries... creepy. I'll post how much will cost me the "free" upgrade ...which will sit on a shelf until this batt issue is cleared .
speaking of... has ePower anything to do with win drivers? how does it work? |

emergePower reports the battery available (as reported by the OS) or AC Power (if you are plugged)
It reports the same as the Battery tray icon but it can be customized _________________

Yeah well, I'll wait a couple of weeks, though. |

My Win7 upgrade arrived today.
I've got tomorrow off work, so I'll be installing it then - assuming I can get the damned screws to undo so I can swap out the HDD _________________ Customize.org - dA - Flickr |

Sometimes the screws are covered externally with some resin to make sure there is no tampering.
Make sure that does not void your warranty... _________________
