Dunno how many from you tried the rc build of win7 but i really like the idea how the taskbar works.
No more 100 icons and things. You just pin a program to it and everything you need is under that one icon. When the program is running it has this glossy overlay. When you want to run new instance you shift click it. When you hover above it it will show all the running instances in a small window under the icon.
So heres my question. Is there a way to keep the taskbar with ED? If not you guys know of something with similar behavior? Cause i have a fresh install but if i remember correctly the docks dont behave this way.

You can't run the taskbar by itself. It is a part of Explorer which is the default desktop shell for Windows. You could however run emerge applets with Explorer though. _________________ emergeDesktop rules. :p |

Ye i know that i could run the applets with explorer. But thats not a solution. I need to find a dock with this kind of behavior. Or ED guys could code it into ED |

| It's also good for those who want the shiny taskbar but not Windows 7 itself. |

| Taskbar Eliminator Eliminates that Awful Windows Taskbar. Admittedly, a lot of you will love the taskbar, especially the one that ships with Windows 7. |

I tried; there are no functioning 3rd party 7 taskbars that will function properly without explorer running (intended for XP).
Either that, or halfway through my research I realized how silly I was for wanting it. |
